Great find at Ikea...

I went to Ikea last week to find a nightstand for Morgans room. (She got a lamp and an alarm clock for Christmas and we had no where to put them.) We found a really cute white one to match her bedroom furniture and it was fairly inexpensive...I love Ikea! So we were wandering around a little and came upon this CHEESY, CARDBOARD, puppet stage...for two bucks! You can't beat that for hours of entertainment!! My kids and thier friends have been putting on shows ever since.

My folders are organized by the year and then alphabetically, this one is 05 Art. It is kind of fun to see what picture you will get. I tag...anyone who wants to.

I am so blessed...

I truly am blessed with a great family, and amazing friends.
So here is the story...In September I went to the Dr. for a yearly exam, and my Dr. found what she thought at the time was an enlarged thyroid. She sent me for blood work and when everything came back normal, she sent me for an ultrasound. That is when we discovered that I had a 2.5 x 3 cmm nodule growing on the right lobe of my thyroid. I was then sent for more tests, including a radioactive uptake scan and a referral to a surgeon for a needle biopsy. I went to see the Surgeon, and he suggested that we just remove the nodule and that side of the thyroid..Therefore I would have to take thyroid medicine from now on. I actually went ahead and scheduled the surgery, but the more I thought about it the worse I felt...why take it out if it is not affecting me or the function of the thyroid??? So I called my Dr. to see who I could go to for a second opinion. They referred me to the only thyroid specialist in Utah County, but I could not get in to see her until January, so her office referred me to Dr. Riddle, an ear, nose and throat specilist. I went to see him and he said lets do a needle biopsy and go from there. So thatis what we did, and the pathology came back benign...yea!! But in the time it took to get those results, the thyroid specialist had an opening to see me. I went to see her and she also suggested surgery because of the size of the nodule. She said that it was too big to suppress, and it was likely to keep growing, which could make surgery in the future harder and more likely to cause damage to the neck and vocal cords. Not to mention make swallowing difficult. So I went back to Dr. Riddle and scheduled surgery for December 30th. Why December 30th?? everyone asks..Well, we had already met our family deductible for the year due to Jordans Hernia operation in March and Gregs Gall Bladder removal in November, Plus Greg was off and the kids were out of school and it had to be done so what better time??? Happy New Year to us!! So surgery went fine...all labs came back benign! Which means that they only had to take out the ndule and right side of the thyroid, they would have had to take the whole thing if there was any cancer. So that was great news. I will still have to take medicine every day, but my voice was not affected at all. I am so glad I decided to have a specilist do the surgery. And he promised me that he made the smallest incision that he possibly could (which was still about an inch long), so we will see how bad the scar is. I just want to thank everyone for taking care of us!! We really are blessed with great friends who have brought flowers, get well wishes and lots and lots of yummy, yummy food!!!Thanks again everyone, you are the best!!

Merry Christmas...

I always get kind of sad the day after Christmas. All the anticipation and excitment and it is over way too quick. But we did have a great day!! We stayed home for a few hours and just enjoyed our new stuff, then it was off to Grandmas house for another round of gifts! Then we went over to my sisters house for dinner and a fun evening of games on the wii and even some board games!

Jordan got some fun stuff. An awesome race track, a Star Wars nerf gun, Buzz Light year and Sheriff Woody and a few computer games.

Morgan was very excited about her real pink guitar (Thanks Santa, now we will have to buy lessons) and her Hannah Montana pogo stick (which she is pretty good at).

Jordan was very excited about all the toys and candy in his stocking!

Morgan got Hannah body spray and a Camp Rock notebook, and candy of course.

This is the kids patiently waiting for dad to get up, they just wanted to hold a present. They were up at 4:45, and we made them go back to bed. I was surprised that thay both zonked back out.

Snow Fun...

We took the kids to Rock Canyon for some sledding fun!! They are both fearless, the faster and steeper the better!!They would have stayed there all day. After about two hours Greg and I were worn out, starting to freeze and ready to go. We got the usual "Just one more time, Please!!" I can't believe they weren't frozen! It was a really good time!

Party with Santa...

Saturday night we went to our neighbors annual Christmas party. Santa made a grand entrance, singing carols and shouting ho ho ho! The kids were so excited!

This year we took my niece and nephew Brenden and Eleesa and my friends baby Aisley. She wasn't so sure about Santa, but she seemed to like has bells.
